The aim of this training is to educate participants about the signs of radicalisation and extremism, providing them with the knowledge to identify vulnerable children and young people at risk. It will cover the indicators and warning signs of radicalisation, including changes in behaviour, beliefs, or social connections, and how these may manifest in young people. Participants will explore the factors that contribute to radicalisation, such as socio-political influences, peer pressure, and personal vulnerabilities, and the role these play in influencing young people’s susceptibility to extremist ideologies. The session will emphasise the importance of early identification and intervention, equipping participants with practical strategies to engage with young people at risk and provide appropriate support. The training will also focus on safeguarding measures and how to create a supportive, open environment where young people feel comfortable discussing their concerns or beliefs. Participants will learn how to collaborate with other agencies and professionals to intervene effectively, ensuring that children and young people at risk receive the help they need before the situation escalates. By the end of the training, participants will have the tools and confidence to identify signs of radicalisation and extremism in children and young people, respond appropriately, and help protect them from harm.
