This training course is designed to equip delegates with the foundational knowledge and practical awareness required for the safe handling, administration, and management of medication within a care or support setting. Participants will explore relevant legislation, understand the importance of accurate record-keeping, and develop awareness of the legal and ethical responsibilities associated with medication administration. The training also covers key aspects such as controlled drugs, medication storage and disposal, and how to respond appropriately to drug errors and adverse reactions. The course aims to promote best practices and ensure compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.

  • This training aims to provide delegates with essential knowledge of safe medication practices. It covers key areas including relevant legislation, the importance of accurate record-keeping, and the basics of medication use. Delegates will understand the need to control drug administration, gain awareness of controlled drugs, and learn how to manage drug errors and adverse reactions. The course also includes guidance on the correct storage and disposal of medication in line with legal and organisational requirements.

  • The objectives of this course are for participants to:

    • Demonstrate an awareness of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks governing medication, including the importance of accurate and timely record-keeping.
