This Emergency First Aid at Work course provides delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively in a first aid emergency. Delivered through a combination of demonstration, hands-on practice, and scenario-based discussions, the session focuses on life-saving interventions including CPR, AED use, managing choking, and treating severe bleeding. Real-life case studies and Q&A sessions enhance understanding and reinforce learning. The training also covers the assessment of emergency situations, maintaining personal safety, and managing a variety of common medical conditions. Additional topics may be tailored to the specific needs of participants.
The aim of this training is to equip delegates with the skills and confidence to provide effective emergency first aid in the workplace. The course ensures that participants can assess an emergency situation, respond appropriately, and deliver potentially life-saving interventions while maintaining personal and casualty safety. Carry out a primary assessment of an emergency scene to ensure safety and determine the appropriate response.
Assess a casualty’s breathing and respond effectively based on findings.
Perform CPR confidently and demonstrate correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Position an unconscious but breathing casualty into the recovery position safely.
Respond effectively to a choking incident and apply the appropriate intervention.
Control and manage severe bleeding using suitable first aid techniques.
Provide appropriate care to a casualty experiencing a seizure.
Recognise the signs of shock and take appropriate steps to manage the condition.
Identify different types of burns and deliver suitable first aid treatment based on severity.
Address additional medical conditions as required, including asthma attacks, allergic reactions (auto-injector use), strokes, angina, heart attacks, strains, sprains, and fractures.
