This session focuses on the critical process of notifying Ofsted and other agencies about significant events, as outlined in Regulation 40 (Children’s Homes) and Regulation 27 (Supported Accommodation). Participants will explore what constitutes a notifiable event, when and how to report it, and how to ensure consistency, accuracy, and professionalism in all communications. Using case studies and examples of best practice, the training reinforces the link between effective notifications and robust safeguarding, leadership, and inspection outcomes. The session encourages a shared culture of openness, timely action, and compliance across care teams.
To ensure staff understand their responsibilities under Regulation 40 (Children’s Homes) and Regulation 27 (Supported Accommodation) in making timely, accurate, and effective notifications to Ofsted and other relevant authorities.
