Effective leadership in residential care goes beyond compliance—it’s about setting the tone, being visible, and continuously monitoring how well the home supports and protects children. This session explores the role of managers and senior staff in creating strong oversight systems, using evidence to inform decisions, and modelling the values and behaviours expected from others. It covers tools like observation, auditing, feedback loops, and supervision, and emphasises how proactive leadership prevents drift, manages risk, and empowers the team. Real-life scenarios and group tasks will give participants practical strategies to apply back in their settings.
To empower residential care leaders with the skills, insight, and strategic approach needed to embed a culture of high-quality care through proactive monitoring, reflective leadership, and robust accountability, ensuring children’s safety, well-being, and development remain central to every aspect of the home's practice.
