This course provides an in-depth overview of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, with a focus on the Quality Standards that underpin the care and support provided in children's homes. Participants will explore the legal and regulatory framework that governs children’s homes, learning how to apply these standards to daily practice in a meaningful and child-centred way. The training will support professionals in understanding their responsibilities, evidencing compliance, and fostering an environment that prioritises the well-being and positive outcomes of children. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to ensure their practice aligns with regulatory requirements and promotes a safe, nurturing, and effective care environment.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, ensuring they can confidently apply them to their everyday practice. The training will support participants to embed the regulations and standards into the culture and operations of the home, enabling them to provide safe, high-quality, child-centred care. It will also help participants recognise how effective implementation of the regulations promotes better outcomes for children and ensures homes meet their legal and ethical responsibilities.
The objectives of this course are for participants to:

Explore the underpinning principles and intentions behind the Quality Standards and how they shape the care and support provided to children.
Strengthen knowledge of the regulatory framework and the expectations placed on children’s homes, managers, and staff teams.
Understand how to evidence compliance with the regulations and Quality Standards through practice, records, and outcomes for children.
Reflect on how applying the regulations meaningfully can improve children’s experiences, promote positive outcomes, and ensure homes are safe, nurturing, and effective.
